GISELE ARBEZ

(nee LABELLE)

November 14, 1938 - February 20, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gisèle Arbez on February 20, 2026, at Actionmarguerite Saint-Vital.

She leaves to mourn her children, Charles (Roseline), Carole, Hélène (Gerry), Diane (Don) and Lynne; grandchildren, Claude (Leigh), Natalie (David), Nicole (Aaron), Emanuelle, Nicolas (Julie) and Colin; great-grandchildren, Robert, Cedric, Jacob, Joshua, James, Aidan, Lauren, Kira and Cameron; her sisters, Viviane (Vic) and Lucille; her brother Norbert (Lucie); and her in-laws, Marcel, Shirley, Tina, Simone (Fernand) and Bill.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Denis; her parents, Adélard and Alice Labelle; sister Lorraine; and in-laws, Gerald, Roland, Gilles, Marcy, Patsy and Maurice.

Gisèle loved music, crafting, knitting, baking, playing cards, fishing and travelling with dad. She worked as an LPN at the St. Claude Hospital and Pavillion for many years and also worked alongside dad at the St. Claude Locker Plant. She played the organ and sang in the church choir, she volunteered with 4-H, the Comite Culturel and helped to open the library in St. Claude. After she and dad moved to St. Norbert, they spent time visiting with family, going to “the Lot” and travelling. Even though her abilities declined during the last years with Alzheimer’s, she continued to live with determination and a strong spirit.

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the staff of Unité Marguerite at Actionmarguerite Saint-Vital for their kindness and care.

Prayer service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. A funeral mass celebrating Gisèle’s life will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church, 70 St. Pierre Street.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Gisèle’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society or to Actionmarguerite St. Vital.
